Blair T. Westover

Blair T. Westover has been with the Law Offices of Beau B. Brindley since graduating from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2007. As a skilled legal writer and strategist, Ms. Westover has drafted numerous appellate briefs in federal courts across the country and has argued before both the Fourth and Seventh Circuit Courts of Appeals. She also served as second chair in the consolidated case of United States v. Kahn before the United States Supreme Court where she and Mr. Brindley won a 9-0 victory.  Ms. Westover’s work on federal motions, appeals, and sentencing arguments have won clients the suppression of evidence, the reversal of convictions, and the return of property.  Taken in total, Blair’s work has saved hundreds of years of her clients’ lives.

Blair’s current legal interests focus on the evolving standards of the Fourth Amendment in the digital age, the constitutional implications of gun regulation post-New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen, and the Roberts Court’s approach to separation of powers as it applies to criminal law.  This work has led her to be on the cutting edge of appellate litigation on behalf of physicians charged with overprescribing opiates.

Outside the courtroom, Ms. Westover enjoys backpacking and camping. She is also in the midst of an ambitious backyard pond project—an endeavor that has tested her patience, creativity, and sense of humor. While her landscaping skills are still a work in progress, her commitment to excellence in the practice of law remains unquestioned.
